The Lutheran Education Foundation of Minnesota was formed in 2003. We are an IRS recognized 501(c)3 not for profit organization which provides financial assistance to students in Lutheran schools.

Metro area Lutheran schools are fast becoming a mission project. They are receiving students from immigrant families, many of whom are unchurched.

Some children have special needs requiring unique learning environments in order to thrive and reach goals otherwise thought unattainable for them. Our schools create a welcoming atmosphere where every child is esteemed as unique and valued.

Welcome to Lutheran Special Education Ministries!

Lutheran Special Education Ministries (LSEM), formerly Lutheran School for the Deaf, wants to help open the doors of Christian schools and congregations for special needs children.

Children who have special learning needs are often misunderstood. They look like other children but feel frustrated, lonely and unloved. For children like this, words may be a confusing jumble of letters or math a series of number that don’t compute and paying attention may be an impossible challenge. But there is hope!

LSEM serves Christian schools and congregations in metropolitan service areas across the country.
